California or Bust, ISA AD is a must…see us in Anaheim

for the 57th annual ISA Analysis Division Symposium.

The AD2012 planning committee has geared up and is charging ahead with symposium planning.

The Call for Papers was recently sent out to Analysis Division, Chemical & Petroleum Division (ChemPID) and Food & Pharmaceutical Division (FPID) and we are pleased to announce that the 3-day technical program is nearly full.  In late January, we will post the program details on the website (www.adsymposium.org).  The attendee registration is now open and our peers have already signed up for this outstanding symposium; more information available at http://www.adsymposium.org/Registration/Registration.htm .

Analysis Division has a long running tradition of providing excellent training opportunities in conjunction with the AD symposium, and AD 2012 will provide the traditional and new sessions.  On Sunday there will be the traditional fundamental course and an advanced course.  The Fundamentals of Process Analysis course provides an overview of analytical principles, equipment and practices commonly used in the implementation of process analyzers in the refining, chemical and power industries.  These topics are presented by a team of ISA AD senior subject matter experts who interact with the attendees through instruction, sharing of experiences and answering questions. The Advanced course offered is “How to Design Sampling Systems that Work- advanced techniques to improve your engineering skills”.  This one day course will focus on selected engineering methods of sampling system design. The course assumes some prior experience in engineering or maintaining process analyzer sampling systems, but those new to the art will also learn some useful skills. The objective is to improve process analyzer reliability by better sample system design.  This topic is presented by Tony Waters.

AD is excited to present a new format training session on Thursday, four hands-on training by ABB, Siemens, Servomex, and Ametek.  Additional information will be available on the AD Symposium website.

Vendors with products and services of interest to process and laboratory analyzer users are invited to be present at the Symposium to meet and visit with attendees.  AD2012 will offer vendor exhibit booths in the same format as was done at South Shore Harbor in 2011. The Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Hotel will be the meeting place during breaks, lunches, and evening buffets for contact with potential customers and viewing the latest in analytical instrumentation, software, and applications.   A new twist this year, Monday will be Analysis Exhibition Day where visitors will be allowed to visit the exhibits at no cost and are not required to register for the Symposium.  Vendors will receive ten (10) visitor passes with exhibit booth registration to encourage local interest groups to attend.   The vendor exhibit registration form will soon be available on the AD Symposium website.  Although the form wasn’t yet available, there has been a ground swell of interest in about the exhibit booth format and registration.  For more information, please contact Paul Otteman (potteman@summitfluidtech.com) or download the registration form here.

AD2012 Symposium will be held at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Anaheim California.  We have a block of rooms held at group rate of $115/night until March 30, 2012.  Consider booking your hotel room early because there are many events taking place at Anaheim Convention Center and Disneyland during the timeframe of AD2012.  http://www.anaheim.crowneplaza.com/

The AD2012 Planning Committee is looking forward to hosting you at a successful event here in beautiful Southern California!
